ASM Ziraat is one of the oldest family-owned firm in Turkey and is backed by the second, third and fourth generation family members. Hendekli family, has been conducting agriculture, manufacturing and trade activities together for three generations, family have started its activity as agricultural merchants, the family members was soon enrolled in the manufacturing businesses, in order to secure their merchandise. For the centuries, the family's commercial activities have been extensive, ranging from tobacco trading to merchanting agricultural products and from food wholesaling to flour milling.
Today ASM focuses on maximizing company value by diversifying investments in its operational areas and through agile investment strategies. Its diversified operations are divided in four main organizational segments: primary production, contract farming and repurchase, agro-trade and distribution, and food processing.
In primary production ASM is active in farming, production of fruit and vegetables, poultry and fishery. Production takes place in agricultural estates owned by Hendekli Tarım, comprising 25.000 hectares.
In contract farming and procurement field, company is active in the buy-up of fruit and vegetables, meat and livestock, food grains and oil crops operates more than 5 buy-up centres. ASM organizes and develops cooperation with agricultural producers through contracting and financing the production of wide range of agricultural goods.
In the field of agro-trade and distribution ASM has been distributing pesticides, seeds, animal feed, agricultural machinery and mineral fertilizers in cooperation with leading international producers. ASM supply large-scale national and international end-clients trades wide range of agricultural products (grains, pulses, animal feed, oilseeds, nuts, and organics), sourced from producers and farmers.
